hi, dreamwitch
Oct. 9th, 2018 07:56 amThis is a place I'm testing the waters.
I don't really know how it works here; I had a livejournal, like, in 2002, but never really got into it.
I'm planning on posting content from Big Bad Con here; I fly out Thursday. I'm not sure if this is a place to talk about game design or even if that's a thing I'm really jazzed to talk about these days.
I'm interested in talking about community design, social justice, and above all else interdisciplinary concepts.
I have some specific brain projects that G+ never really provided a home for, so I might be looking to see if other spaces work more naturally for that.
Right now, it's a bunch of overlapping concepts from DBT/Mindfulness/Dialectics/Social Justice/Community Organizing/Game Design and it forms a cloud that sort of looks like some other things if you squint.
Another purpose G+ has never really served is that of a place I feel comfortable posting emotional content. Part of that is definitely on me. I also never really built up the momentum to reliably host discussions, so I mostly had to hope more prominent people hosted discussions that I was interested in. Few experiences on G+ were more frustrating than posting something and having 5 people go "." and then the post is lost to the void. This is what made me miss the SA forums, and, uh, that's not a good thing.
One thing I am uninterested in is using this space as a place to boost my brand, in any monetary or status sense.
I am also interested in posting stupid shitpost jokes. Twitter is probably the best place for that, but I don't like it. I currently use Facebook for that, and I think it'll remain that way.
